I am Ari, a father of two girls living in Tampere, Finland. I am also known as Arinium in the Internet. I have a Master of Science degree in software engineering and have worked in various fields of business including retail sales and software industry. I am also a basketball enthusiast playing in real life, with my XBOX 360 and following the NBA closely. In addition I enjoy photography and “computer stuff”.

I wasn’t interested in carpentry at all until we moved to a semi-detached house. Suddenly I saw many needs and opportunities that would improve our new home drastically. Ad-hoc constructing had failed me couple of times so I begun drawing the schematics with paper and pencil. However I had dreamed of learning how to use computer assisted sketching and I got myself familiar with Google SketchUp. I have attached the SketchUp project file to all constructing posts for all of you in need of similar work. I am not a trained electrician but some of my works have required some understanding of high voltage systems. In those cases I have consulted professionals. I strongly encourage everyone not possessing the skills of an electrician to leave those works to the professionals.

I have had a low-carbohydrate diet for a while now. I have had my problems with waist area fat and I tried a low-calorie diet & excessive amount of exercise for eight years. Although it yielded some results I was always hungry and grumpy. Also I had urges for sweets that would ultimately result in collapse and indulgence. After I found the low-carb way of life, I reached my goal in few months. I often refer to myself being a “sugarholic” as I might slip into a gluttony spree after tasting some sweets. A similar consequence could follow an alcoholic after a beer or two. In my opinion, total denial is not recommended but a “controlled pleasure” instead. If you have a “sweet day” once a week, it cannot make too much damage and it helps you to manage during the other six days of the week. I like to try out new food and I constantly seek low-carb alternatives.
