This new Monster variation is advertised as “hypotonic“, non-carbonated energy drink that contains taurine, L-Carnitine, caffeine and ginseng. It supposedly relieves hangover symptoms and revitalises your body.

L-Carnitine

Taurine and ginseng are commonly found in energy drinks. However, this product has in addition L-Carnitine that has amazing qualities listed in Wikipedia – ranging from angina cure, helping kidney related problems and even increasing male fertility! Also, some research studies indicate that it reduces fat mass, increases muscle mass, and reduces fatigue. Quite unbelievable substance, if you ask me.

Smell and Taste

The product is described having tea, lemon juice and energy. It smells distinctively like lemon. The taste is really sweet – more so than I expected. It is really unique, nothing like a regular energy drink taste. I can sense lemon juice and a bunch of other nuances that I do not recognize. The sweetness comes from glucose syrup, sucralose and acesulfame K.

Conclusion

This is a welcome addition to the Monster product family. Its different taste will definitely find some fans. The hangover cure, fertility etc. effects you can judge for yourself.
